About flava-it™
flava-it ™ is made in South Manchester by the Manchester Rusk Company. We are a family owned and managed business, who make not only flava-it ™, but also a wide range of marinades, glazes and sauces supplied to butchers, retailers and the food processing industry. The business was started by Roy Dixon, a butcher by trade, who began by supplying rusk as an ingredient for sausages. The business grew, then was hit by the sudden closure of MRC's biggest customer. Roy's son and daughter-in-law took him out for a consolation meal where he tried spare ribs for the first time and the idea for flava-it ™ was born. The business grew once more, and is now run by Roy's son Gary. Gary began with the firm as van driver and worked his way up to be the Managing Director, whilst Roy is now enjoying his well deserved retirement. The company now occupies purpose built manufacturing premises near Wythenshawe, where everything is produced and packaged on site for all our customers.
Manchester Rusk is a forward thinking company and has made great strides in trying to protect the environment, with all staff committed to do whatever they can to combat waste and climate change. Click on the link below to see a few of the things we have been doing.
